Poetry: Peace
I'm tired tonight
- need to sleep
But there's a poem
here somewhere
Hiding in the creases
of your skin
Your paper heart calling out
to feel the creator's pen Wanting the ink
to explode inside
Now, Let every hand that holds the sword
Open to hold the hand of a stranger
In the warmth of fingers and thumbs
One heart is beating in us all
Hear the whispers in your ears
They carry the dreams of every child
These dreams are the echoes
Of our own longing for serenity
Let your proud and heroic flags
Fly as one mighty, force on Earth
For family and compassion
Then shall we find the peace
Humanity longs for - reflected
In the eyes of every soul
