Poetry: Death be Damned

The spirit with honest work, and giving Body and mind to honor and duty Does not perish but does go on living.

Wicked doers, losing the gift of sight Go buried 'neath cruel and secret soils Cold as stone and blind to the infinite

Wise souls soar like eagles in full flight Over graves and darkness, lands and seas Death be damned! No battles left to fight

At peace goes the heart taking time to write Love letters to the future and the past Turning blame, shame and regret to insight

To you friend, filled with rage and spite Rise up! Raise your eyes to greater heights Death be damned! No battles left to fight Death be damned! No battle left to fight
